May 6-12 is US Equestrian's Community Outreach Awareness Week. Learn more at usef.org/opportunity.

US Equestrian understands that young riders are the future of our sport. We want to encourage them to enjoy the sport, while also providing education and support for their equestrian endeavors. Our youth programs help introduce young riders to the many different breeds and disciplines and reward them for continued interest and dedication to the sport. We offer a Lettering program for junior high and high school students, as well as serveral grants and scholarships for all of our Youth Members. Many of our affiliates also have youth programs, which you will find along with our own programs in the infomation below.

School Riding Programs

As many students know, there is not always time for other sports or extracurricular activities when you ride horses. Fortunately, many grade schools and colleges/universities are incorporating horseback riding into their offered activities. Throughout the country various high school riding associations have developed to promote equestrian riding teams and clubs to junior, middle and high schools. The Interscholastic Equestrian Association is one such organization that provides an avenue for middle and high school students to compete in multiple disciplines on a national level.

To find out more about these or to learn how to start your own equestrian riding team or club, read our guide to Equestrian Riding Programs—Overview for Middle, Junior High, and High School Students
